Know Your Rights as a Journalist

Join us for a one-hour online seminar with lawyer Leora Shemesh, designed for anyone reporting from the ground as an independent journalist. In this session, Leora will break down the essentials of your legal rights while documenting events in public spaces.

You’ll learn:
• How to navigate interactions with police
• What to do if protesters confront you
• How to respond when individuals demand you stop filming

The event will include a 30-minute lecture followed by 30 minutes of open Q+A, giving you the chance to bring your real-world scenarios and questions.

Whether you’re covering rallies, marches, or local community stories, this session will give you practical knowledge to protect yourself and your work.
