Security Support for Field Reporting

Independent journalists are increasingly facing hostility, obstruction, and, in some cases, physical risk while doing their work. Access to professional security should not be out of reach.

Through a dedicated grant, IPG now offers members the ability to apply for security support when working in environments where safety is a concern.

If approved, IPG will coordinate and cover the cost of qualified security personnel on your behalf, allowing you to focus on your reporting with greater confidence and peace of mind.

This support is available to members who can demonstrate a clear and reasonable need based on assignment conditions, location, or prior incidents.

What this includes:

• Coverage for professional security personnel during assignments
• Coordination handled directly by IPG
• Discreet, case-by-case assessment process

• Active IPG members in good standing
